I am trying to connect to our company via virtual private network as I did under Windows XP, but cannot connect.
As VPN type L2TP-IPSec-VPN is used.
Is this feature not working yet? Are there some prerequisites for the VPN-Server (at the moment Windows 2000)? Which build will support VPN connections?
regards, Peter

VPN problem - Can't connect
Peter,
Can you better describe what you are tyring to connect to? ISA, Cisco Conncentrator, what?
What are you using for authentiation? Cert, Smartcard, Domain creds?
My understanding is that MS has this working, but I don't know the detail on there connection.

See if this helps... it might be easier if you're in a more "familiar" playground with network settings, as a lot of people have said that the new Network Center is good, but hard to actually find the settings you need!

Got it to work (with WI-FI connections, wired connections I still must give a try). It seems that there are a few timing problems between the Vista client and Windows-2000 VPN server. The dial up client often hangs at the first steps. I had to try more often, and that is now my intermediate solution for this problem.
To the other replys on my request: I'm using Microsofts build in features (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol L2TP), with certificate authorization against the vpn server, and un/pw-domain credentials.
